Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem solving. CBT is based on the cognitive model which asserts that the way we perceive, or think about a situation influences how we feel, behave, and react toward the situation. The goal of CBT is to help clients change their unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns allowing them to experience enduring improvements in their mood and overall well being. In other words, we feel what we think and if we can change the way we think we can change the way we feel.
